What to do? You could amputate the offending party from your life. That may stop the pain, - but doesn’t bring wholeness, something that was meant to be there will now always be missing. You could ‘pretend’ everything is ok, try and smile away the hurt and move on as though nothing has happened. But who does that fool, not yourself and not others either.
When we go to Calvary we see forgiving love granted to US, yes US without any conditions, demands or residue of the past. “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you” (Ephesians 4:32). This makes the path very clear.
I don’t have to spend the rest of my life ignoring that person and living life incomplete! I don’t have to ‘wear a smile’ when inside I am churned up and hurting! I CAN FORGIVE. …BUT, to do it, I need to remember how much I was forgiven. Juxtapose Calvary with the cause of attempted bitterness, and it will give you the strength to win, and walk away whole.
This is a major shift in Vanuatu as it equates to approx. 4% of the population being displaced. Pastors are doing all they can both financially, materially and Spiritually. Rev. Charlie Bola has a bush church, but has opened it up to all who need shelter (below). We are so proud of everyone who is praying and for the local church here in Vanuatu that is pitching in everywhere
Thank you again for all the continued prayers!
The importance of the call of God was brought home to me today by someone who posted on my wall. They attended the funeral of Rev. Robert Condrey in Georgetown Texas.
In the early 1970’s Brother Condrey started the church in Alice Springs, Central Australia.
There was just a small group of people who met in his home. He worked a secular job, but Truth burned in his heart. He couldn’t come to this town in Outback Australia without reaching souls.
When this man left, another man came to Alice Springs, Rev. Dennis Jacobsen, his wife Sue and his four little children. In 1977 I came into Truth under the Jacobsens.
What would have happened had Brother Condrey not reached out, had not taught a Bible Study, and not gathered that small nucleus around him? When he left there would have been no thought of UPCA sending someone. It may have been years before a church was established. I may never have heard this precious truth. I may never have married an Apostolic preacher, our son Nathaniel would never have existed as he does today. He would not be in Alice Springs today, pastoring the very church that Brother Condrey started. I would never have had the opportunity to serve the Lord, beside my husband, in the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea or in Vanuatu. But I did come to truth, I did marry my husband, Nathaniel was born and is today pastoring in my home town and I did serve the Lord in all these countries.
Why? Because many years ago, one man said, “Yes”, to the call of God.
My aim in this 'new look' grationlocation.com site is to share and discuss 'real' life. My 50th Birthday is fast approaching, and with it the desire to share life experiences 'warts and all' in a way that may just help someone else along the path. My wife and I (Robbie . . or Hunny to the grandkids) have traveled around the globe numerous times, lived in various places and enjoyed learning from times of SUCCESS . . . and the MANY mistakes we've made. Some of them will make for some fun reading, while others are more serious. I also have a deep interest in Anthropology, Sociology and Social Psychology and have been fortunate to study and 'try' much of this out within context. The 'being' of mankind ( or metaphysical existence) is also very important, and in our studies of missiology 'on location' this has led to many interesting, informative and fun 'educational' opportunities 😥.
I do not know where this journey will lead, but I am excited to start it and I am looking fwd to sharing thoughts and experiences both past, present, and my wild guesses for the future. Those are the ones that will evolve in detail and clarity thanks to the never ending plod of time. I would be delighted if you would join me and enjoy the journey with me 😄
